We are in the middle of August, a time when many people are on vacation or taking time to reflect on the next year. Some of us, like co-host Sarah Brooks, are experiencing the challenges of natural disasters and trying to find our equilibrium. In this episode, Nancy and Sarah talk about what they are reflecting on this summer.
Questions to reflect on before you listen:
What are you reflecting on this summer?
Discussion questions:
- What resonated with you about this conversation? What would you like to take back to your organization?
- We talked about priming— changing how we set up a conversation or approach to elicit a better response. Where could you use priming to help someone you work with be more successful in doing what you/they want to do?
- We talked about going upstream to the root of problems. Summer is a good time to reflect on their upstream issues and connect with someone addressing those issues. How does this idea connect to you and your work?
- We talked about leadership. Sarah mentioned that many of the people she works with don’t think of themselves as leaders, and yet they are. We are all leaders. How does the idea of leadership and who is a leader connect with the people involved in the leadership of your organization?
